Janet Awo - Founder

The Peculiar Teens/Youth Development Foundation (PETFOND) creates Youth and Gender-based innovative Projects, Programs and activities to boost Development and Empowerment. To achieve her goals, the organization collaborates with Techincal consultants, Cooperative Societies, and Ministries of Women and Youth Affairs at the Federal and State levels. The initiative was born out of the passion of Miss Janet Sylvanus Awo. A bachelor of Law holder from Rivers State University, Youth Development and Women/Girls Right Advocate. Janet Awo, also served as the Director of Welfare Niger Delta Student Union Government, 2014. She is a social actor, social influence and committed to changing the world through her innovative development programs for the Girl-Child and youths.

To become a leading Youth and Girl child empowerment platform in Nigeria through collaboration with national and international development agencies aimed at making young people the central beneficiaries of development.

To impact the lives of Youths and the Girl child Positively through initiation of programme of action within specific time frames.

What We Do

Menstrual Hygiene Education

Ending menstrual stigma and breaking cultural taboos by introducing menstrual hygiene education in secondary schools across Nigeria aimed at improving outcomes on education, health, and gender equality for girls.

Distribution of Menstrual Pads

Sustainable distribution of sanitary pads to the girl-child in schools across Nigeria, but beginning from Rivers State.

Building Wash Facilities

Equipping several rural community schools across Nigeria with WASH facilities to cater to the safe and private management of menstruation for the Girl Child.

Organizing Training and Empowerment programs/Seminars

PETFOND has suggested and created a number of innovative Youth and Gender-based Projects, Programs and activities to boost Development and Empowerment.

Janet Awo

Janet Awo is an innovator, distinguished young female Leader and Legal practitioner She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from Rivers State University (RSU) and a Barrister at Law degree (BL) from the Nigerian Law school kano.
Her focus has been on Youth Development, towards shaping a better world for young people, have shown exceptional leadership skills as the Director of Welfare, Niger Delta Student Union Government (NIDSUG) from 2014-2016.
Janet has earned herself the reputation of a Visionary Leader with her age not being a barrier, with a no holds barred approach towards drawing Global attention and mitigating Menstrual Health issues which affect all females at reproductive age.
Janet founded Peculiar Teens/Youth Development Foundation (PETFOND) and designed a framework for Youth Development with best practices Today PETFOND has recorded trailblazing feats, having built a Sustainable Distribution System of Menstrual Pads for Rural School Girls in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria.

Asonumaka George

Aso is a Merchant/Investment Banking professional His primary business focus is in the Energy sector & Project Financing. A highly motivated and forward-thinking Economics Graduate who thrives in a challenging environment with an excellent record of initiating workplace improvements.

His diverse work experiences centred around the delivery of an Integrated Financial Services provision is honed with Over 18years of work experience ranging from Capital market ( stock brokering/Asset Management) Energy Banking & Insurance.

He also has cognate experience in Corporate finance, Portfolio Management which has contributed immensely to a strong team-building skill coupled with an ability to blend imagination, passion and energy with resilience to devise and drive innovative solutions for corporates.

Until January 2020 He was ae SPEF Concepts and Resources (Nigeria) Limited as project finance facilitation and management Firm. His job there ranges from the provisioning technical partnership and funds provisioning within a virtual operating platform to deserving corporates and governments in the emerging market.

He has also worked with several organizations like Cane Digital services; IEI Asset Limited (A subsidiary of IEI Plc) Jeruel Assurance Limited (SPV For The Formation of Energy bank); Global Acquisitions Limited (Portfolio Managers/Venture capital Specialist) to mention but a few.

Frank Uchegbu

Frank is a project manager, a Risk Analyst, a Project Management Coach, a technical expert on engineering health and safety. He started his career as a Dr. of Optometry turned Project Manager. He has always had a passion for improving how companies manage work, deliver great products & services, & better serve their customers. He is currently working as a Project Manager at BIM Projects.

He is a front-end web developer, coach, project planner, earned value analyst, team leader, and Monte Carlo/Latin hypercube simulator (for project risk management) expert. A public health expert with a special interest in executing projects in NGOs that over-saw over 10,000 eye surgeries.

Over the years, he led several successful enterprise software implementation projects. He holds a masters degree from the American Military University, West Virginia, USA. He holds several professional certifications including Project Management Professional PMP®,  Agile Certified Practitioner PMI-ACP®, Project Risk management PMI-RMP®, Scrum Master Certified, NEBOSH, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and Lean Production from the technical University of Munich, Germany.
